Active around San Francisco in the later 1960s, the scary thing was about him was that he was never caught. On the evening of 20 December 1968, 17-year-old David Faraday escorted 16-year-old Bettilou Jensen to a concert at Vallejo high school, near San Francisco, where they were both students. It was their first date; it was also to be their last. It was a beautiful night and, when the concert ended, David suggested they drive up to Lake Herman Reservoir to “look at the view”. It was shortly after 11 p.m. when they parked by the lakeside and kissed one another. They were still kissing when they were interrupted by the beam of a pencil-torch shining through the driver’s window.
